Description
Arijit Sengupta is Director, Bureau of Energy Efficiency, Ministry of Power, Government of India. In his current role, he has been responsible for delivering a successful Clean Energy Ministerial hosted by Government of India in 2023 and was instrumental in ensuring that voluntary action plan to double the global rate of energy efficiency was noted as an outcome in the G20 New Delhi Leaders Declaration. He coordinated the preparation of a strategic roadmap for unlocking energy efficiency potential of the country by 2030 and plays a crucial role to assess the impact assessment of various energy efficiency measures annually. He has been actively involved in strengthening the capacity of States to promote energy efficiency and its conservation; support preparation of codes for commercial and residential buildings; ensuring compliance of energy consumption norms by paper industries under the first Perform Achieve and Trade cycle; and is leading the establishment of Energy Data Management Unit and improving energy efficiency in cold chain sector.
By training he is MBA from Delhi University, a Certified Energy Auditor and a Chemical Engineer with twenty years of experience, of which around fifteen years has been on Energy Efficiency.
