Description
Angellah Wekongo has a background in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and currently works for the CLASP team based in Nairobi, Kenya. Focused on CLASP's climate and clean energy portfolios, she specializes in developing national frameworks and regulations aimed at advancing energy-efficient, high-performing appliances across Africa.
Angellah effectively manages CLASP's South Africa portfolio, providing support to SANEDI in techno-economic market analysis and the development of regulations for appliances. Her diverse project portfolio includes the implementation of compliance frameworks for East African Community (EAC) and Southern African Development Community (SADC) member states under the EELA project, leading initiatives such as the adoption of energy-efficient refrigerators and distribution transformers in Botswana and conducting market analyses of lighting in Mozambique and Zanzibar.
Prior to joining CLASP, Angellah played a key role in supporting the implementation of appliance standards and labeling programs, as well as conducting energy audits at Kenya's energy regulator. Angellah Wekongo is dedicated to advancing sustainable solutions in the energy sector.
