Description

is the Coordinator of the Energy Efficiency Program of the ECOWAS Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (ECREEE), where he is designing and implementing the ECOWAS energy efficiency activities: Ecowas Energy Efficiency Policy, EE in buildings, industry, standards and labels, energy nexus water, clean cooking solutions. Prior to his current position, he was the Head of the Energy Efficiency Programme of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), for the Nigerian Energy Support Programme from 2013 – 2017. His interest in clean energy technologies began in the academia, where as a professor, he taught clean energy technologies and industrial energy efficiency system since 2005 at Queens’ University, and at Saint Lawrence college, Kingston, Ontario, Canada. As a Certified RETScreen Expert Trainer, he has conducted several RETScreen Expert Certification trainings across the world (north and Latin America, Europe, Africa, COI – Energies Indian Ocean, etc.), on clean energy project analysis (technical, economic and financial). He conducted Post-Doctoral Researches at Queens’ University, Kingston Ontario, on the improvement of renewable energy efficiency in hot climate zones and the integration of solar energy into buildings at Concordia University, Montreal, Quebec, Canada. He holds a Ph.D. in Renewable Energy Technologies at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, Ghana, and MSC degree in Energy policy at Kenyatta University, Kenya.
