Description
Fitzgerald Cantero holds the position of National Director for Energy of Uruguay since 2020. He has an extensive professional career in the public sector where he has held roles like mayor of Montevideo (2005-2010), national representative for the legislative branch (2010-2015), and director of the State Insurance Bank (2015-2018). Mr. Cantero is an active member of various political science associations in Uruguay and is currently the director of the online news outlet Con Libertad. He also has an extensive academic formation with a bachelor’s and master’s degree in political science from Universidad de la República, a master’s in administration and advanced project management from Universidad Católica San Antonio de Murcia, and a Postgraduate in Marketing Management from the Universidad de la Empresa and Institute of Company Directors IDE-CESEM, Business School of Madrid.
