Description
Rayén Quiroga is Chief of the Water and Energy Unit within the Natural Resources Division of UN ECLAC since 2021. She has a longstanding career with the UN since 2003 holding various posts including Expert Project Coordinator for Environmental Statistics & Sustainable Development (2003-2007), CEPAL Regional Advisor for Environmental Statistics and Sustainable Development Indicators and Assessment (2008-2010), Environment and Sustainable Development statistician (2010-2016), and Chief of Statistics and Environmental Indicators and Climate Change (2016-2021). Ms. Quiroga graduated from Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo with a degree in economics, later obtaining a master’s in economics and development from Rutgers University. More recently she was a Doctorate candidate at the University of Valencia for the topic of Human Development.
