Description

Alessandra Fidanza is an International Environment and Climate Change Advisor, Chartered Architect, Urban Planner, and Programme Manager with over 25 years of successful sustainability and environmental projects. She is a Senior Expert member of the Sogesid TA Unit at the Italian Ministry of Environment and Energy Security. She is the Italian Member of the Bureau of the UNECE Committee on Environmental Policies and a Member of the UNECE Environmental Performance Review Expert Group. She is recognised consistently for performance excellence, contributions to successful bilateral and multilateral activities at the UN level, and strong research skills. She was a member of the Italian climate change negotiation unit and a Member of the International Panel that drafted the UN New Urban Agenda. logues and relationships. Alessandra has significant professional experience in multilateral international cooperation, mainly in Central Asia, in the “EU-Central Asia Platform of Environment and Water multilateral cooperation” framework and several bilateral governmental agreements. She has a significant academic background and was a contract professor lecturing on environment and climate change matters at the Universities of Rome (La Sapienza) and Berlin (Technische Universitaet). She is often a Chair or Moderator in high-level events and conferences. Significant accomplishments and professional memberships: • Chartered Architect and Urban Planner holding post-graduate specialisations in Global Environmental Protection and International Policies, Environmental Assessment and Landscape Planning • Member of the UN Habitat Panel of international experts who elaborated the New Urban Agenda, (Habitat3 2016). • Member of the International Association for Impact Assessment and a Full Member of the Italian National Association of Urban Planning (INU). • Author for the recent EPRs of Kazakhstan (2018), Uzbekistan (2019), Morocco (2020), Azerbaijan (2021) and Kyrgyzstan (2022). • International Cooperation experience in Algeria, Nepal, Vietnam, and Central Asia • Vast experience in Environmental Assessment (EIA/SEA/SESA)
