Dr. Pongpan Vorasayan is a senior professional electrical engineer, who holds a significant role within the Division of Energy Regulation and Conservation under the Department of Alternative Energy Development and Efficiency (DEDE), Ministry of Energy of the Royal Thai Government. His academic background includes graduating from Loughborough University, United Kingdom, where he earned both his master's and doctoral degrees in Electrical Engineering.
At DEDE, Dr. Pongpan has over 12 years of experience in the field of energy efficiency and conservation promotion. His primary areas of focus include energy management, building energy code, energy efficient appliances and equipment, and energy efficiency financial support programs. He has played a pivotal role in the formulation of the recent Energy Efficiency Plans (EEP2018), which are the government's roadmaps for promoting energy conservation.
Dr. Pongpan has actively participated in various projects related to energy efficiency, showcasing his expertise in this field. He serves as a key representative of Thailand in the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Sub-Sector Network (EE&C-SSN) within the ASEAN region, indicating his influential presence in regional energy conservation efforts.
