Description
Dorah Modise is C40’s Regional Director for Africa, spearheading climate change initiatives across the continent. With over 26 years of experience, she’s a sustainability advocate skilled in environmental sustainability, international diplomacy, and government relations. Dorah founded the South African Paper and Packaging Producer Responsibility Organisations Alliance, driving extended producer responsibility programs. As CEO of the Green Building Council of South Africa, she led the sector’s green transformation. She chaired the World Green Building Council’s Africa Regional Network, fostering the development of Green Building Councils in Africa. Previously, Dorah managed sustainability at the City of Tshwane and contributed to environmental diplomacy at the National Environment, including the Rio+20 conference in 2012. She’s instrumental in developing green economy programs and establishing the national green fund.
